Kinamandagan Scouts Hold Encampment
The Girl and Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Kinamandagan chapter, held their 2005 Joint School Level Encampment in Kinamandagan, Lazi, Siquijor. The event was held from Nov. 25-27, 2005. Their theme was "a program of today's youth for a better tomorrow."The event began with a torch parade throughout the mountain barangay on Friday night. The event continued with parlor games and acquintance-building, facilitated by Ma'am Cecile Bayhonan from the Elementary Division and Sir Archie Abellana from the Secondary Division. Participants enjoyed cooking their own meals during their encampment. The day ended with the playing of taps.
On Saturday morning students participated in physical fitness activities, a flag ceremony, and a parade throughout the barangay. The highlight of the morning was the variety show performed by the Star division of the Scouts. In the afternoon students participated in skills-building activities, including drill formation, knot tying, first aid, the handling of the flag, and arts and crafts. After dinner students enjoyed singing around the campfire.
On Sunday morning students participated in the Eucharist before breaking camp.
